introduction

My name is Alejandra Morante. Little known fact about me is that I was born in Peru but immigrated to America when I was about one year old so I grew up raised in the states. You, reader, are going to learn a lot of little known facts about me as per the assignment. I identify as a woman and was born on March 7th, 1999, which makes me a Pisces. I chose the picture of the Pisces constellation as one of the pictures that describes me because it’s a pretty big part of my identity for me and also I’m very intrigued and infatuated with stars, constellations and outer space. Regarding the zodiac aspect, I know it shouldn’t necessarily be taken totally to the heart but personally I’ve found the descriptions quite accurate and also it’s just fun.
For the next picture I chose a strip of filmstock. The reason for this is because I simply love movies. Cinema is only one of many art mediums but it’s the one that I’ve been able to really connect with the most. Most of my childhood revolves around movies such as the Austin Powers movies, the Back To The Future trilogy, both Kill Bill films, Mean Girls, etc. Currently, my major is video production and when I graduate I hope to be able to work as part of a film crew and join a union. Although some people may not give it much consideration, entertainment is very important to people as it’s not only cathartic but it provides a sort of temporary escape from reality. Sometimes a little escape is all we need.
For my final picture I chose a picture of a loading icon because I’m still in progress myself. Not only am I in progress as a college student but as a person in general. I’m currently only twenty years old and will soon be turning twenty-one. I definitely have a lot left to learn, experience, and explore. In hindsight it’s sometimes scary to really think about how much else there is left to do but only because I have a fear of failure but it’s something that I’m still working on fixing. Still in progress. I suppose what’s important is to keep “loading,” to keep moving forward and just go on.
