Introduction

Hi, my name is Xiaowen Han. You can call me Vicky. I am an international student. I come from Shanghai, China. I’m also a transfer student. I used to live in Wisconsin. Now I live in New York.  I am a senior student. My major is Video Production with Film Studies minor.

I love traveling, that’s one of the reasons I choose to study in the United States. I want to travel to different places or countries to meet different people and learning about different cultures. I identify myself as a quiet and friendly person on a micro-level. I have been travel to some places and countries and meet lots of people, but I still a little bit shy to say hi. Traveling and study abroad is also a good experience for me.

I am an animal person. I have three kitties, two puppies, and a ferret in my home. Photography is one of my hobbies. My dream job is to become a photographer of documentary film.

Intro

Hi all, I'm Natalie, I'm a junior at Rutgers majoring in Fine Arts and pursuing a double minor in American Studies and Art History. I have always been interested in arts and culture and the way the two influence each other. I transferred to Rutgers Newark in the fall and have really been liking my time here so far.

I love to make pottery and jewelry and am especially interested in making things that are both sculptural and functional. I also love to travel, watch movies, go to art museums, and listen to music. I love animals and have two cats, Frankie and Milo. :)

Introducing Myself, Lauren Milligan

Hello, my name is Lauren Milligan. I’m from Rahway New Jersey which is about 20 minutes south of RU-N. I’m currently in my 3rd year, majoring in video production and minoring in marketing. I have three siblings a younger brother and an older sister and a fraternal twin sister.  Out of all my siblings, I would say that my little brother and I have the closest bond, due to the fact that we share similar interests. While my siblings are more outdoing, I tend to have introverted tendencies and occasionally can be extroverted if the situation calls for it.

While my siblings and I have been born and raised in America, my mother has opened another door to culture, by emerging us to her native country in Trinidad & Tobago. What’s beautiful about the culture is the steel pan and limbo dance both originated from there! I also happen to take a likening to the diverse culture. As a kid, it shocked me that the world was so much more than ‘Black’ & ‘White’. For the time, I saw Black, White, Chinese, Arab, & Indian in one place! And they spoke with Caribbean accents. I soon learned that this is normal and that’s why I happen to be very comfortable in places that are very diverse. As a result of embracing my mother’s culture, I recently became a dual citizen of both Trinidad & Tobago and America. This is great because I can stay there indefinitely and enjoy the beautiful beaches and also exercise my rights as a citizen.

As for my interests in video production, it started out because my father had a great interest in film. At a very young age, I’ve seen my father act in movies created by well-renowned directors, Spike Lee to be exact, to filming shorts of his own. The technical aspect of putting shorts together amazed me and created an interest I still enjoy today. After graduation, I’d like to get into the advertising industry. I find that I’d be satisfied if I were involved in the creative process of campaign ads that people saw on tv and out-of-door. In my spare time, I enjoy taking pictures and posting them on my website. Mainly because I get bored and my brother is so photogenic that he needs a new profile picture every week! Okay, slight exaggeration...maybe every month, but it’s still frequent!

Introduction Stephen C

Hi my name is Stephen Cannatelli. I'm currently a junior and transferred with a associates degree in video production. I'm looking to graduate next spring with a bachelors degree in video production. Before learning about video production, I used to play football and wrestling in high school. My goal after graduating from Rutgers is to make my own short films or work for a big production company.

For myself, I can see myself being a quiet and shy person. I tend to not speak at the first jump and most of the time I keep things to myself. However, I can speak comfortably and can hold a conversation for a  good amount of time. My favorite pass time is to listen to music and play video games.

Self Introduction by Ruiqiao Qi

Hi, everyone! I am Ruiqiao from Shanghai, China. You can always call me Richard or Rich for convenience. I have been here for almost four years as a Graphic Design student. I used to have a strong liking in entomology but being pushed back by the course requirement since I am not good at math at all. That being said, I always love insects and willing to learn or illustrate them in new ways. The interest about small creatures like insects might come from my short stay of one year at Japan over decades ago. I can still remember the arcade game that featuring beetle wrestling, and they even have details like the Latin names of the beetle, habitats and body length printed on the playing card which I can get from starting each round of the game. The culture and obsession of insects in Japan had really shocked me in a great way.

Enough about insects? Let's talk about myself in another approach. I am, in fact, trust my ability of hand-drawing more than digital illustrating. When I am boring, I tend to draw stuffs with pencil and any paper in-reach. It does not happen a lot now, since I believe I learned how to stay focus on any kind of classes, in theory. However, I am also an anime person who has a relatively high standard of picking animations from any counties and medias. What is my favorite anime? I will tell you it is "Nurarihyon no Mago" for now.

I am a quiet person who thinks way more than talking. It is not only the reason that English is not my first language, but also my experience that shapes me. People say that I am overly thinking which could be useless at most of the time. That is partially true. I hate that I am losing some sort of chances, but I hate to be reckless and untrue to someone even more. I like to play single-person and open-world games for killing time. In those "lone-wolf" games, I feel like I could read the game designers' idea more sincerely and clear. The competition of other genre of games just does not feel comfortable to me. "Fallout 4" had changed my mind toward the humanity and morals of people before. For me, play those games gives me more things than reading most of the books.

Introduction

Hi, my name is Gerardo Regalado and I was born in El Salvador but came to the United States when I was 2 years old. I'm currently a junior and majoring in journalism and media studies with a minor in video production. Before college I played high school soccer for three years and won our conference my senior year, but unfortunately I suffered a knee injury that prevented me from playing in college.
My goal in life is to create films/documentaries that change peoples lives in an impactful way.

On a micro level, I would describe my identity as a bit shy and for some odd reason I always tend to laugh at the most inappropriate moments. Looking back at my childhood I would say my father helped establish a "hard working" mentality in me.  He made it clear to me that if I really wanted to anything of myself , it wouldn't come knocking at my door. It would come through blood, sweat, and tears.

Once you get to know me you realize that most of our time will be spent laughing, playing a sport or going out to eat and trying different things. For example last summer we all did indoor sky diving and power sailing. Although it was a struggle to get everyone on board to do it, in the end we had a blast.

Who am I?

Hi everyone my name is Tyree Lark, I'm 29 I was born in New Jersey but live East Orange. I'm a senior at RU-N pursuing a major in New Media Technology (Filmmaking) and minor in Fine Arts (painting). I love the work I do in filmmaking as a director, editor, and cameraman. But with my painting is the best way to express myself, with my emotions to make something interesting an image with paint. But with that outside of school I'm a freelance photographer, doing landscapes, portraits,  black & white photos. The two places I take photos are New Jersey and New York.

I have a lot of hobbies and a lot of things I'm interested in, mostly street photography. I like walking around Jersey or New York and just take photos of anything that piqued my interest. It's relaxes me on a stressful day. For me the best place to take photos is New Jersey. Why? Because some people don't know that Jersey has some beautiful places and I like to show that to people.

I live in Jersey my whole life, I love it here. But for my personality I have a laid-back type of guy. I like to go with the flow. But I work hard just like everyone else. I put in the time and the work, I'm very loyal with the people who know me. But I'm very easy to talk too for the people who don't. I hope to meet everyone in the class so we can know more about each other.
